Per Don Williams comment, be aware to DJs trying the master tempo button on Pioneer CDJs. The master tempo is nowhere near the quality of “key lock” in programs such as Traktor. It will keep the pitch from running way off but is not as exact as a computer software will be. Personally I never use Pioneer’s master tempo because of the way it makes my tracks sound. But I also spin a style of music that embraces pitched up tracks.

You guys should do a series on CDJs. I know there’s heaps of stuff on YouTube, but most of it is really badly structured and on old gear. I know I found it hard to get beyond the basics when I got mine. Maybe 2000NXS and 900NXS and a Denon. Just a thought!

Did not know about the sync deck double trick. I can think of at least a few situations that would’ve been less of a headache with that in mind.

James Zabiela brings up a great point with checking the Link functionality before you hop on the decks. I’ve had the Pro Link cut out on my before during a set which is NOT fun, definitely bring copies of your Rekordbox library as well. The Link functionality seems to be wonky as the CDJ gets more and more use.
